IPTV Smarters Pro is the most widely used IPTV player app in the USA — and for good reason. This guide walks through installation and configuration on every supported platform.

Installing IPTV Smarters Pro on Your Device

IPTV Smarters Pro is available on Amazon Firestick, Android TV, Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad, and Windows PC. The installation method varies by platform — here is the fastest route for each.

  • Amazon Firestick / Fire TV: From the home screen, go to Find → Search → type "IPTV Smarters Pro" → select the app → click Get. No developer settings required — it is in the official Amazon Appstore.
  • Android TV Box / Android Phone: Open the Google Play Store, search "IPTV Smarters Pro," and install. If your Android box does not have Play Store, download the APK directly from the official Smarters website and sideload it.
  • iPhone / iPad: Open the App Store, search "IPTV Smarters Pro," and install. The iOS version is functionally identical to Android with the same M3U and Xtream Codes support.
  • Windows PC: Download the Windows version from the official IPTV Smarters website (smarters.pro) and run the installer. The Windows app supports both M3U URLs and Xtream Codes login.

For device-specific installation context — particularly around sideloading on older Android boxes — our IPTV apps and players guide covers installation on every major platform in detail.

Adding Your IPTV Playlist or Credentials

Once Smarters is installed, open it and tap Add New User. You will see three options:

A

Login with Xtream Codes API

Choose this if your provider sent you a username, password, and server URL. Enter each exactly as provided — the server URL typically looks like http://provider-domain.com:8080. Tap Add User. Smarters connects to your provider's panel and loads your full channel and VOD library. This method supports the richest feature set including seamless EPG integration and catch-up TV.

B

Load Your Playlist or File/URL

Choose this if your provider sent you an M3U URL. Enter a nickname in the Any Name field and paste your M3U URL in the Playlist URL field. Optionally, enter your EPG URL if your provider supplied one separately. Tap Add User. The playlist loads within 30–90 seconds.

C

Load Your Playlist or File (Local File)

Use this only if your provider supplied an M3U file as a download rather than a URL. This is uncommon — most providers supply URLs. If you received a file, download it to your device and use this option to browse and select it.

After your playlist loads, you arrive at the main dashboard. The bottom navigation bar contains four sections:

  • Live TV: All live channels organized by category. Tap a category on the left, then select a channel on the right. Use the Play button to start streaming, or the Info button to see EPG details for the current and next program.
  • Movies: Your VOD movie library. Filter by category or use the search function to find specific titles.
  • Series: TV series available in your subscription's on-demand library, organized by show with individual episode navigation.
  • Catch-Up: Time-shifted TV — watching recently aired content after broadcast. This feature requires your provider to support catch-up on specific channels. Not all channels include this regardless of provider tier.

The settings gear icon at the top right provides access to player engine selection, EPG configuration, parental controls, and multi-profile management if you have added multiple playlist sources.

Key Settings to Configure After Setup

Player engine selection

If channels buffer or display a black screen after loading, go to Settings → Player and switch between the available player engines. IPTV Smarters typically offers an internal player and EXO Player. EXO Player handles a wider range of stream formats and is worth trying first if you experience playback issues with the default. On iOS, the internal player is the primary option.

EPG / program guide

If your provider uses Xtream Codes login, EPG typically loads automatically from the provider's panel. If you loaded via M3U URL and EPG is missing, go to Settings and look for an EPG URL field — enter the XMLTV URL your provider supplied. EPG data usually takes a few minutes to download fully after first configuration. Forcing an EPG refresh from the settings menu speeds this up.

Clearing cache on Firestick

If Smarters becomes sluggish after prolonged use on Firestick, clear the app cache: go to Firestick Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → IPTV Smarters Pro → Clear Cache. This does not delete your playlist configuration — only temporary files. Restart Smarters afterward for the improvement to take effect.

IPTV Smarters Pro vs. TiVimate — Which to Use

The most common question from Firestick IPTV users is whether to use IPTV Smarters Pro or TiVimate. The practical answer depends on your priorities:

Start with Smarters if you want the simplest setup. Switch to TiVimate if you find yourself wanting a superior EPG grid and do not mind the five-minute sideloading process. Many serious Firestick IPTV users end up using both — Smarters for its multi-device familiarity and TiVimate for primary TV watching. Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — IPTV Smarters Pro is free to download and use on all supported platforms including Firestick, Android, iOS, and Windows. There is no in-app subscription required to access the core M3U and Xtream Codes functionality. Your cost is only your IPTV subscription from your provider — the Smarters app itself does not charge you.

The most common causes are: the M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials were entered incorrectly (check for extra spaces or missing characters); the subscription has expired; or the provider's server is temporarily down. Go to Settings, verify your profile credentials exactly match what your provider sent, and try refreshing the playlist. If credentials are correct and channels still won't load, contact your IPTV provider directly.

Open the App Store on your iPhone, search for IPTV Smarters Pro, and install it. Open the app and tap Add New User. If your provider gave you an M3U URL, select Load Your Playlist or File/URL and paste the URL. If they gave you Xtream Codes credentials (username, password, server URL), select Login with Xtream Codes API and enter each field exactly. Your channels load within 30–90 seconds.

IPTV Smarters Pro works with any provider that supplies M3U playlist URLs or Xtream Codes API credentials — which covers the vast majority of IPTV providers. The only providers incompatible with Smarters are those using MAG-exclusive portal URLs, which require a dedicated MAG set-top box. When choosing a provider, confirm they support either M3U or Xtream Codes format before subscribing.
